Colorful asparagus packets (gluten-free)

Ingredients for 4 persons:

2 kg of white asparagus
400 g tender carrots
2 medium oranges
1 vanilla pod
40 g butter
salt
pepper from the grinder
1 pinch of sugar

also:

4 rectangular pieces of baking paper (approx. 40 x 50 cm)

Preparation:

Wash and peel the asparagus, remove the woody ends. Wash the carrots thoroughly, peel them, halve or quarter them lengthways. Peel the oranges thickly, cut the flesh into slices. Quarter the vanilla pod lengthways. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.

Put the butter in an ovenproof bowl, melt in the oven. Spread out a piece of baking paper, brush the middle area with 1 teaspoon butter, sprinkle a little salt, pepper and a pinch of sugar on top. Place a quarter of the asparagus, the carrots and the orange slices as well as a quarter of the vanilla pod on top.

Drizzle with 1 teaspoon of melted butter, season with salt and pepper again. Fold the edges of the sheet of paper tightly over the vegetables and at both ends. Place the vegetable parcel on a deep baking sheet.

Use the same principle to assemble three more packages, add them and cook in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes. Remove the parcel from the tray, open it and arrange the vegetables on plates.
